| Besides
making sure you buy the right sized shinai for your age group,
choosing a shinai style to purchase is an indivual choice. There
are many types of shinai, The most common shinai style is the
"dobari" style which is the most commonly sold shinai
and suitable for both practice or tournament use. The dobari
style shinai has most of the weight towards the bottom of the
shinai making it feel lighter in your hands. The chart below
will quickly tell you what size you need to buy. Note that for
females the weight will be different in the adult sizes, and
each manufacturer will have a ladies adult size (usually a size
38 for adult ladies) |
